List of Jewish United States Supreme Court Justices
This is a list of all Jewish people who have served as Justices of the Supreme Court of the United States. The first Jewish Supreme Court Justice was Louis Brandeis, in a contentious nomination. For a relatively short time, he was joined by a second Jewish Justice, Benjamin Cardozo; Cardozo would be succeeded by a Jewish Justice for the next three terms, leading to discussion of a "Jewish seat" on the Supreme Court.
In 1994, the Supreme Court Historical Society published The Jewish Justices of the Supreme Court Revisited: Brandeis to Fortas, with forewords by both currently serving Jewish Justices, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer.
